A new brand database takes 7-10 business days to set up and backfill with data. Backfills may take longer for brands with large catalogs.
No registration necessary. We can provide data for any Seller or Vendor account, regardless of age or developer status.
Subscriptions give you access to Reason Automation's services over a set period of time. Maintenance is included in the price of a subscription license, giving you ongoing access to support services at no additional cost.
Since Reason Automation provides a data pipeline service, there are no user limits. You may share access as desired within your organization.
If for security reasons you would like additional sets of credentials (username + password) with access to your database, we can provide additional credentials for a small monthly fee.
We check Amazon's systems multiple times per day for updates. When we detect new data from Amazon, we take a daily 14-day snapshot (i.e. every day we record 14 trailing days of data). Where we see changed data, we update to the latest data presented by Amazon. In situations where data drops off of an Amazon report (e.g. revenue for cancelled orders), we maintain the data so you retain visibility into what was ordered.
Data backfill is the process of importing all available historical data from Amazon's systems and APIs into your new database. A historical data backfill is included for all new Reason Automation customers and includes all data available at the time of setup.
Report lists can be found on our Pipeline and Server pages, or in our Help Center. To see a complete list of columns available in each report, please see our Data Dictionary.
Subscriptions are billed on a per-month basis. There is no commitment and you may cancel at any time; your service will lapse at the end of the period in which you cancel, and you will not be charged the following month.
Once authorized, Reason connects to your account via Amazon’s APIs and workflows to access data. We convert the resulting reports into PostgreSQL database tables, at the lowest granularity available (e.g. we record transactions at the transaction level, instead of aggregating, when possible).
Your data is stored in a secure Postgresql database hosted by Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure.
Reason Server users need a spreadsheet program (e.g. Excel) or a BI application (e.g. Tableau or Power BI), and familiarity with Amazon ecommerce data. No development experience or resources are necessary, but you may benefit from the following skills:
Experience or education with data architecture
Basic knowledge of SQL: select statements, joins, subqueries
Experience with organizational functions, such as VLOOKUP in Excel
Not yet! APIs are useful tools for power users, but many business users are frustrated by them: the promise of scalable, flexible access to data means different things to different audiences. We opted to make data easy to access for business users, vs. easy to programmatically access for software developers.
